Every now and again, you stumble over a song that always makes you feel better, regardless of what else is going on. Happy Together is one such song.
The Turtles were formed in Los Angeles in the mid 1960s and had a minor hit in Australia with a Dylan composition – It Ain’t Me Babe – in 1965. It was a full two years before they tasted success with this song, described by music critic Denise Sullivan as “pop perfection” and “a most sublime slice of pop heaven”.
I think that she is pretty much on the money. Listen to the song and tell me that you don’t feel better afterwards.
Bet you can’t.
