The Bee Gees first came to prominence in the early to mid 1960’s in Brisbane. Their first top 40 single, Spicks and Specks, hit the charts in 1966 and reached number 3. What followed was a string of other singles, many reaching the top 10 but, in reality, their major international breakthrough was their inclusion on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. I could have picked any one of the songs from the soundtrack for inclusion in this Top 30 but chose How Deep Is Your Love because, quite simply I think it is the best of the bunch AND I think it is the most “Bee Gees” song of that period of their career.
Many will disagree and choose other Bee Gees tracks ahead of this one – you are welcome to do so, but it IS my Top 30 🙂
